Behind the scenes, it appears that employees still aren't happy with the direction that T-Mobile is heading. And while you might experience something slightly different from what you're used to when heading into a T-Mobile store, there's a pretty good chance that now you won't even need to do that if you're looking to activate or change service.

With that said, it looks like T-Mobile is starting the year off strong, giving people in the know a new line of service for free. The news comes from folks chiming in on Reddit, and the folks at PhoneArena picking up the news. While the new line of service will be free, this promotion will require the purchase of one new line in order to get it.

Buy one, get one

So, it's a buy-one-get-one offer, and while this might not appeal to everyone, it's certainly better than paying for another line if you need an additional one anyway. When it comes to these promotions, there's a pretty good chance that you won't see anything pop up on T-Mobile's website, so you will need to contact the brand in order to get the promotion.

However, you can always call in or talk to customer support in chat in order to get the ball rolling. Luckily, the Reddit thread does have some important information surrounding the promotion to help you navigate the situation better. Most importantly, the promotion ID, which comes in as ID260060 and ID260164.

If the person you talk to at T-Mobile isn't all that clear about the current promotion, you can always throw out those numbers to get started. That will provide something that the representative can take a look at. This promotion does not qualify for all current and past plans, but there has been confirmation that the promotion works with Go5G Plus and Next plans.

In addition, the promotion also seems to be working with Experience Beyond and More plans as well. Again, if you're not quite sure what's going on, get in contact with T-Mobile if you're interested in getting a free line of service. You will need to purchase one line for free, but they will throw in one additional line at the very least if you qualify.

Just be sure to get all the details before you're finished. You'll want to know how much additional you'll be paying for the new lines. Remember, these lines do not include the taxes and fees in the price. You will be paying for these, even on free lines. And since there has been a recent increase, you will want to double-check so you won't be shocked when you get the bill.
