The Dennis-Yarmouth boys basketball team picked up a huge win on Wednesday against a top 15 seed in Div 3.

The Dolphins (3-5) handed Martha's Vineyard (6-2) their second loss as they won, 58-47.

Sophomore Desmond Baker scored 21 points and knocked down five three-pointers for D-Y. Sophomore Aiden Paris had 16 points and four three-pointers. Aiden Gonsalves had nine points and Chris Beaton added eight points. Senior Ricky Senat and sophomore Kobe Smith led the defense and controlled the rebounds.

Boys Basketball

Cape Cod Academy 65, St. John Paul II 46: The Seahawks (4-5) have won back-to-back games for the first time this season as they beat the Lions (6-3).

Senior Mike Berry had 26 points (10-10 on free throws) and 11 rebounds, while freshman Cody Tolley finished with 22 points and six rebounds for Cape Cod Academy.

Rising Tide 51, Sturgis East 39: The Storm (0-6) could not pick up their first win of the season.

Girls Basketball

Sturgis East 32, Rising Tide 26: The Storm (2-5) have won back-to-back games for the first time this season. Eva McNeil (12 points), Violette Ceraldi (eight points, one three-pointer), and Meghan Conlon (seven points) led Sturgis East.

Upper Cape 44, Bristol Aggie 21: The Rams (5-4) have won four of their last five games. Alexis Powell-Gomes had 23 points, while Madisyn Maciel (eight points), Meadow Diede (two points), Jaylin Roux-Santos (five points), Halle Jesop (two points), Mary King (two points), and Kaiya Thomas (two points) also contributed in the scoring.

Mashpee 50, Falmouth Academy 39 (OT): The Falcons (5-3) have won five of their last six after an 0-2 start to the season. Elyse Sharpe had 28 points and seven rebounds for the Mariners (4-2).

Boys Hockey

Nantucket 4, D-Y/CCT/CCA 1: The Whalers (2-4-0) snapped a three-game losing streak as they beat the Dolphins (3-7-0). Andrew Lavin, Jeremy Jenkinson, Canton Jenkinson and Ben Freeman scored the goals for Nantucket.

Martha’s Vineyard 1, Sandwich 0: The Vineyarders (7-3-0) snapped a two-game slide with a win over Blue Knights (6-4-0).

Upper Cape 7, Tri-County Reg. Voke Tech 2: The Rams (1-9-0) lost their seventh straight. Sophomores Jake Dutton and Braeden Blanchard had a goal each, while sophomore Evan Barrasso made 36 saves.

Bourne 7, Apponequet 0: The Canalmen (4-4-1) rolled to a third straight win. James Crowell had six points with two goals and four assists, while Cole Thomas (two goals, three assists), Charlie Seitz (one goal, one assist), Ronan Kelly (two assists), Landon Hope (two assists), Sean Collins (first career varsity goal, one assist), and James Kirby (one goal) all contributed to the scoring. Jackson Palmborg recorded his third straight shutout with 23 saves.

Falmouth 4, Nauset 4 (OT): The Clippers (7-3-1) and Warriors (8-1-1) ended in a tie in a battle of two top 10 teams.

Duxbury 5, Barnstable 1: The Red Hawks (7-2-1) ended a four-game win streak.

Girls Hockey

Falmouth 5, Whitman Hanson 2: The Clippers (6-3-0) won their fourth straight game. Maeve Turner scored four goals, Violet Cox added one goal and three assists, and Raelynn Spellman and Heidi Truman combined for 11 saves in net.

Sandwich/BMC 4, D-Y/CCA/JPII 3 (OT): Sandwich (4-6-0) have won three of the last four games.

Paige Fowler and Riley Precourt had a goal and assist each for D-Y/CCA/JPII (5-4-1)

Barnstable/UCT/CCT 5, East Bridgewater 2: Barnstable (4-4-0) earned their second win over East Bridgewater this season. Cate Buckler had a hat trick, while Cat Canon (one goal), Sophia Fellows one goal, first career varsity goal), Ray Whiteley (one assist) and Emma DaSilva (one assist) all factored in the scoring.

Nauset/Monomoy 3, Martha’s Vineyard 0: Nauset/Monomoy (6-4-0) won their fourth straight as they beat the Vineyarders (2-6-0).

Wrestling

Sandwich 42, Nauset 40: The Blue Knights picked up a close win over the Warriors.

Senior captain Liam Hallett started the Blue Knights scoring at 132 pounds, as he secured a pin in 1:42. The dramatic match of the night came at 138 pounds with Sam Da Silva and Henry Rockwell.

In a back-and-forth battle filled with takedowns and reversals, Sandwich's Rockwell narrowly avoided being pinned before he reversed Da Silva and drove him to the mat for a pin early in the second period, sealing the victory at 2:40.

Junior captain Jack Steele recorded the fastest fall of the evening at 150 pounds, closing out Nate McCarty in 38 seconds. Sophomore AJ Davison pinned Brett Before in 1:18 at 165 pounds. Freshman Sam Guzman finished the scoring for the Blue Knights at 175 pounds, when he pinned Troy Costa in 1:42 to secure the team win.

Nantucket 94, Nauset 27: The Whalers recorded a win over the Warriors.

Boys Swim and Dive

Nantucket 93, Nauset 49: The Whalers recorded a win over the Warriors.
