On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Pittsburgh requested to interview Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, who was the Steelers Linebackers Coach/Senior Defensive Assistant in 2022.
Flores, age 44, is a defensive mastermind and under his leadership, the Vikings were ranked the No. 1 pass defense, No. 3 in total yards allowed, and No. 7 in points given up.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementMany fans criticized the Steelers for allowing Flores to leave Pittsburgh without promoting him to defensive coordinator, but a return to the Steel City as a head coach would likely be celebrated.
